VISA AND ENTRY INFORMATION

Entry conditions

Vietnam has re-opened its border to foreigners and overseas Vietnamese who hold valid permanent residence cards, temporary residence cards, visas, and visa exemption certificates in compliance with the Law on foreigners’ entry into, exit from, transit through, and residence in Vietnam.

Passengers who are allowed entry into Vietnam have a stay duration of 45 days from the entry date (including the entry date and the next 44 days of stay) and are nationals of the following countries qualify for the visa waiver policy:

·      Federal Republic of Germany

·      Italian Republic

·      French Republic

·      Kingdom of Denmark

·      Republic of Korea

·      United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

·      Kingdom of Norway

·      Japan

·      Finland

·      Sweden

·      Kingdom of Spain

·      Republic of Belarus

·      Russian Federation

The visa waiver policy applies for this category of passengers from March 15, 2022 to March 14, 2025. Foreign passengers who are exempt from visas under international treaties that Vietnam signed or based on visa reciprocity.

If a participant requires a visa, they must obtain and pay the fees independently.

 

Requirements for tests, quarantine, and health declarations

Currently, passengers entering Vietnam are not required to perform tests, quarantine, or health declarations.

 

E-visa

An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of the visa types issued to foreigners by the Vietnamese Immigration Department via an electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for maximum of 90 days, single or multiple entry.

Outside Vietnam, foreigners who want to enter Vietnam can personally apply for an E-visa or through the inviting/guaranteeing agencies and organizations.

E-visa fee is paid via an electronic payment gateway as prescribed by the Immigration Department. The fee will not be refunded if the application is refused.

Conditions for being granted an e-visa:

  • Outside Vietnam foreigners;
  • Holding a valid passport;
  • Not falling into the cases of suspension from entry prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on foreigners' entry into, exit from, transit through, and residence in Vietnam.

In case you are not eligible to be granted an e-visa, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi will invite and guarantee you to enter Vietnam. Please prepare the information below and email it to iccs@usth.edu.vn

  • Scanned valid Passport
  • CV
  • E-ticket (or details of flight itinerary)
  • Intended temporary residential address in Vietnam
  • Type of visa: visa-on-arrival (at Vietnam International Airports) or apply in person at Vietnam Embassy in your country)

Guidelines to apply for E-visa

Step 1: Fulfill the required information (After this step, the registration code will be sent to the applicant)

  • Upload your Portrait photography
  • Upload your Passport data page image
  • Fulfill Personal Information (Full name, Gender, Date of birth, Current nationality, Religion, Email, Passport number, Type, Expiry date, Intended date of entry, Intended length of stay in Vietnam, Purpose of entry, Intended temporary residential address in Vietnam, …)

Note:

  • Please choose “business activities” for the purpose of entry
  • For “Inviting/ guaranteeing agency/ organization”, please use the information below:
    • Name of hosting organization: University of Science and Technology of Hanoi 
    • Address: 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Nghia Do, Cau Giay, Hanoi

Step 2: Pay the E-visa fee (25 USD). Your application will be processed in 3 working days;

Step 3: Enter the registration code, registration email, and date of birth to check the result in the E-visa search
